Unable to remove plugins
-
Hi, I have been trying to update this website and I am getting the message ‘There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.’
When I did so, the email advised me that ‘WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Give – Donation Plugin.’It gave instructions on how to do this, but I am unable to access the Edit Plugins – I keep getting the same critical error message. When I use the Recovery Mode link in the same email I get the message ‘Recovery Mode not initialized.’
Could you please advise on the best way to resolve this issue. Kind regards,
Cheers, JohnWP.com: Yes

Howdy –
After reading your post it sounds like the site you’re working on does not use our managed hosting environment from WordPress.com. Free sites like upliftsupportproject.wordpress.com aren’t able to utilize plugin integrations. That is included with our business plan.
On WordPress.com our team offers a managed hosting environment. This means that we handle all the back end details of the site. Things like back ups, updates, security, spam, seo, ssl, mobile optimization, top notch hosting specs, and sorting out any errors or bugs that pop up along the way. When you run a stand alone WordPress installation, like what y’all have set up, then all of those details fall on to you – so instead of being able to focus on content you spend a ton of time and frustration fixing these sort of issues.
All of our hosting plans are available on https://wordpress.com/pricing/ If you think a managed environment is a better setup for the project and your experience level then we can talk more about how to move your site over and what’s involved with that process.
