Unable to renew Domain

  Hello,
  We have been unable to renew our domain for the last few days. It is still within the grace period but each time we try to submit our credit card info is says “This domain already exists and cannot be registered.”

  Please Help!

  I’m seeing a 2016 expiration date for that domain. Were you able to get this sorted out and renewed?

  I forgot to update my card details and the domain expired yesterday :-(

  I thought I would wait 72 hours, but when I click on http://playinginportland.com which should be my playground blog is a home design blog. I thought I paid to get my name back or did I just pay to have http://playinginportlandwordpress.com. I thought that was free? I read something about changing it to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM, but I don’t quite understand if I need to map it or not. Please help.

  playinginportland.com was registered through WordPress.com. However, it expired in March of 2015 and went through the domain expiration process:

  Domain Expiration

  It was then registered by someone else, apparently a home design blogger.

  The other day, you purchased Domain Mapping for playinginportland.com. Domain Mapping is the upgrade you would purchase if you wanted to use a domain registered elsewhere (GoDaddy or 1and1 for example) with your WordPress.com site. For some reason, the purchase did not update on your account. So after you posted here, I updated so that it would work. However, it ONLY works if you have the maped domain registered soemwhere else. And in this case you do not.

  Bottom line, playinginportland.com is lost and cannot be recovered (unless you are willing to go the route of trying to privately buy it from the current owner). Because of this, you do not need Domain Mapping for playinginportland.com and I will be happy to refund your purchase or apply it as credit towards registering a new domain. Just let me know what you would like to do.

  I understand that this is a little confusing (domains can be frustrating) so please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

  RootJosh I would love to be refunded because I thought my $13.00 would get me my name back. I also thought I would be able to see my blog when I put in my web browser playinginportland.wordpress.com but I can't even get to my blog. I thought my wordpress would be free and I could still see my blog. Because I couldn't see it I paid $13.00. What do I do?
