Unable to renew domain name

On the “my upgrades” page (dashboard>store>my upgrades) there is no button to renew the domain
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

So it looks like that domain is owned by a different WordPress.com user than the one you are logged in and posting here with.
Could you have opened another WordPress.com user account at some point?

Is there any way to figure out what WordPress.com user this was? I work with many students so this is possible. How can I “reclaim” this domain and upgrade it myself?

Try leaving a comment on the blog – if the comments are set to moderate an email will be sent out – usually that goes to the blog owner (but not for sure the upgrade owner)
The staff will not give out ownership details for a blog or upgrade – privacy issues

I left a comment but not sure where the notfication went.
I can go in and see/approve all comments to this site anyways.
Is there anyway I can renew this domain – its a site I manage for my students and I would hate for it to be lost.

You should be able to renew the domain mapping & registration as a gift – can’t remember the exact details – but look in
Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades
staff-ozmodiar should be able to help if you have trouble – renewing as a gift will not change the ownership but will keep the upgrade from lapsing

When I go to My Upgrades I see no way to renew the domain name. No button or link to do this as a gift either.
