Unable to renew domain name

The domain name for the website expires today but the website will not physically let me pay. When I initially logged in a pop up message told me to renew the name and pay the £85 fee , I filled in my details and found a message saying
‘This blog is not subscribed to some of these products. Did you mean to purchase them?’
This happened twice. Even after to going to ‘my upgrades’ it won’t allow me to renew my premium subscription only to pay for the next level subscription.Hope you can help.

The issue is that the WordPress.com user account that you are posting from is not the owner of that upgrade.
So you must have ended up with a second WordPress.com account at some point. You will need to log into the other account in order to renew.

If you cannot remember the login information for a WordPress.com account, your best bet is to try the account recovery process here:

Our domain name expired about three days ago – round about this time last year I renewed it for about £18 ($25?) but this year the only option I have seems to be £85. Has it really gone up that much in a year?
