Unable to resize uploaded videos

Hi, I’ve just added a 4-second video to a blog post for the first time but have been unable to find a resize option. I don’t have a YouTube channel so I didn’t use the embed feature — I uploaded media directly onto a blog post via add > media > video. I tried to use the ‘edit’ feature in the media gallery but there are no sizing options, only file name and description options. I’d like to reduce the size as it’s taking up a significant chunk of my page and doesn’t look great on mobile. Could you please help me understand how I can resize uploaded videos in the WordPress editor? Thanks in advance!

  • Hi there!

To be able to upload a video to your site, you would need at least plan Premium, since I can only see a free site on your account, what’s the address of the site you’re working on?

Hi, thanks so much for your reply!

I’m currently using a free site (www.cadencerage.wordpress.com), I’m not sure how I was able to upload videos in that case. I could create a YouTube channel and upload my clips there. Just wanted to double-check, though — would I be able to resize embedded YouTube videos on my site?

Please let me know. Thanks again!

  • The YouTube video embed would be consistent with whatever your theme allows. It will look similar to your other post content.
