Unable to Save
-
I’m unable to save anything on my blog so far. I don’t see any save options. So far very user unfriendly.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can you clarify what you’re trying to save? If you’re writing a blog post, the current draft you’re writing will save every few seconds. You can see when it was last saved on the lefthand sidebar, as shown on this page:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/post-and-page-screen/
Note that once you’re ready for the post to go live, you can then “publish” the post. That button is also in the lefthand sidebar. After it’s published you can “update” the post.
Let me know if you have further issues, or if your screen looks different than the one in the link above.

Hi,
In the wp-admin post and page editors, the Save Draft button is prominent and hard to miss. This is not the case at the My Sites post and page editors. The Autosave support page says:
As you write and edit your posts and pages on WordPress.com, the changes you make are automatically saved every few seconds. In the Publish Module at the top left of the editor, you’ll see when the entry was last saved and can click Save to force the editor to save.
However, during testing in the “new improved” editor I did not find a “Save” button or link.
-
@musicdoc1 It’s another one of those buttons that comes and goes. As you write in the “new” post editor the “Save” button appears for a moment above “Publish” but then changes to “Saving” and then the “Draft Saved” time changes. I’m afraid I still haven’t any confidence in using it. Personally, I still haven’t found how I access the Media Library whilst in the “new” editor.

The “Save” button disappears because it was able to automatically save itself. If you want to test that, I’d suggest making a test post, waiting for it to automatically save, then leave the post editor and come back in. You’ll then see that the post draft was successfully saved.
As for the Media Library, you would need to use the old wp-admin Dashboard to see that. If you’re currently logged into WordPress.com, you can get to the old Dashboard by going here:

@musicdoc1 You’re welcome. I usually bow to your experience.
@bradshawtm Thanks but I’ve been using WordPress for the last eight years. I know where the Media Library is. I just don’t know how new users (who are mostly using just the “new” editor all the time) are expected to find it ?!?
-
@themagicrobot Sorry! Yes, I don’t know of a way to get to the Media Library directly in the new system either, so I believe it’s only available on the old Dashboard. It seems the new interface is much more post-centric, and thus media is managed through the post editor interface instead of in its own section.
-
@bradshawtm Yes that’s right. New users are expected to write a post and upload their images all at the same time. Another immense confusion is that if I access the “new” dashboard, I (and most probably you) can scroll down to the bottom left and just click on “wp-admin”. This useful link seems to have been removed for new users. Hence many questions here on the forums about various functions we take for granted.

Ah! Did not know this. Now the mists are clearing. This little ploy, if true, reminds me of the special treatment that evidently brings members to MySites or the Reader upon login if they registered their account with WordPress.com after a certain date, or perhaps if their name begins with a certain letter. Not really sure why it occurs, but I’ve read the complaints.
Editing Categories also can evidently only be done in the wp-admin dashboard, a mysterious, unknown place for those familiar only with the My Sites interface.
