Unable to Save HTML Code in Widget Section – WordPress Issue
-
I’m trying to add custom HTML code to the footer of my WordPress site using the HTML Widget in the Widgets section under Appearance. However, the code does not seem to save when I try to paste it in the widget area.
Here’s what I am trying to do:
- I want to add a custom footer, including an email subscription form and footer credits, in my widget section.
- I’ve tried using the HTML Widget as well as the Text Widget, but neither seems to work.
- The HTML content is not being saved, and the form doesn’t show up as intended on the site.
Additionally, I’ve noticed that the code might be stripped out or modified when I attempt to save the widget.
What I’ve tried so far:
- Used both HTML and Text Widgets.
- Checked for plugin or theme conflicts that might be blocking inline scripts.
- Verified that I am using the correct widget area in the theme for the footer.

Hello,
Looks like you are using the Self-Hosted version of WordPress. This forum is for sites hosted on WordPress.com
You will need to ask your question over at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Does that mean that if someone purchases another hosting where WordPress is included in the package is not able to get help from WordPress directly?

Here you are in the forums of wordpress.com, which is a hosting platform. Your site uses the open source wordpress.org. https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/ explains it all
