Unable to see ads on my blog / website
-
Hello, I have activated ads on my blog (https://lightscameraaction.blog/) a few days ago, but am unable to see them on my website. I reached out to the WordPress support team and they confirmed that my settings are all correct and also that they are able to see the ads on my blog. They attached a few screenshots and videos confirming that. However, I nor my friends still don’t see anything on my website. I have tried multiple browsers and PCs, Macs, phones etc. One possible issue according to wordpress could be the presence of an ad-blocker. But I do see ads on many other blogs, just not on mine. I am attaching a few screenshots below. Can someone please check if you can see the ads and advise on why I cannot see them?

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out and I’m hoping the forthcoming will be useful.
If there’s a blank ad spot, it means that the site is eligible for advertisement, but there’s no-one bidding on the ad space.
To explain, the online ads system is similar to the stock market where advertisers bid in real time – so this is why ads, ad placement and earnings can vary from day to day.
This document here, has a bit more information: https://wordads.co/faq/
To explain what is happening with the other examples (which is possible for your site too), in the first site, spicingyourlife.com – this site is using Google Adsense to run their ad network, and looking at that banner at the bottom of the site, it looks like they could be using a plugin called Advanced Ads to manage the ad placement and this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/q2w3-fixed-widget/ for the bottom banner. This is just going by looking at the source code – this website owner would need to confirm that ultimately.
It’s possible to copy this set up and use Google Adsense, which arguable provides more data on your audience and advertising than that of WordAds, on the business plan. The features of which can be seen here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
With the other two examples, these look to be WordPress.com sites, that are showing what’s known as inhouse ads, and no revenue is generated from these, and they may not even be generated by WordAds natively, but instead WordPress.com, if the site is on the free plan.
When it comes to advertising and running ads on the site, whether it’s via WordAds or Google Adsense, I always try to encourage driving traffic to the site:

If you’re willing to tell me more plans you have for the site, I’ll happily offer some insights. :)
I hope the above is useful.

@smankikar for what it’s worth, I saw an ad when I viewed the site, so it may also depend on other factors (where the viewer is, etc). Be sure you’re checking the site from a browser where you are logged out and where there are no ad blockers. I hope this helps!
