Unable to see words while typing into contact form

    One of our readers recently alerted me to an issue with the contact forms on our website…you can enter all other information, but the large text box in the contact form doesn’t work.

    You can type in the box and it sends me what is being entered, but the person doing the typing cannot see what they are writing.

    I have checked this in multiple browsers and in several contact forms on our site (like the one on our “contact us” or blog posts often have them) and all of them do this.

    The forms were create using the WordPress.com dashboard and worked fine until some point last month, as far as I can tell.

    Hi there,

    I tested this a bit, and the text is there when you enter it, but the font is set to white for some reason, making it invisible on the white background. Did you make any recent changes to the colour settings on your site?

    It looks like this might be a bug in your theme. I’ve reported it to our theme developers to fix.

    But meanwhile you can also work around this by changing one colour setting on your site. Go to the Customizer and click on Colors and Backgrounds, and change the first custom colour option to a darker colour.

    Then the text in the contact form box will be visible. This way people will still be able to use the form until we can fix the underlying cause. However, it will also change the colours of some other elements on your page.

    Thanks for bringing this bug to our attention. We’ve made a fix, and you should be able to see the contact form and edit links on your site properly.
