Unable to set a custom A record
-
I want to set a custom A record in DNS setting in order to use GoDaddy hosting for my WordPress.com domain but it doesn’t show up after saving. I set the record, save it but it disappears after some time. I want to add 166.62.27.56
May be I did it many times and something went wrong. Please help.

I modify A record in DNS settings and wait for a few hours bt nothing happens. Then I open DNS setting panel again and find that no A record is showing there. Why is A record not being updated?

Howdy –
Can you let me know which domain you are trying to add that A Record to?
There have been some issues with that as of late, it’s being worked on, but we’ve had to add some of those manually for users.

It’s my WordPress.com bought domain name combomag.com. I am trying to alter the DNS A record for using this domain for GoDaddy’s hosting. I have setup GoDaddy hosting at cPanel and now all I need is to manually change A record to 166.62.27.56 but it’s not taking place.
I add this record to A record of combomag.com and wait but nothing happens. I recheck DNS settings and find there’s no A record in the panel.

It’s the forth day since I first attempted to change the A record. Two days went wasted waiting to see the change taking place and two more days since posting this problem here at forum.

Hey! If you’re not able to solve the problem, kindly activate or add the WordPress.com’s default A record to the domain combomag.com so that I can use WordPress.com hosting for the time being!
