Unable to 'share' or 'like' media images in gallery

    Hello,

    When you click on an image on the site it opens up nicely, shows a “comment” section – but there is no “like” or “share” option.

    Under the “sharing options” —> “sharing buttons” —->”options” I have everything checked including “media.”

    Not sure what else to do? I suppose I could create a post for each painting…but this would be easier if it can be done.

    Doing this for a friend and not very familiar with wordpress.com – I’ve always used the stand-alone version.

    Hi there,

    Are you referring to the gallery carousel that pops up when you click a gallery image? Those don’t show Like or Sharing buttons, only comments. The setting you refer to only affect image attachment pages, like:

    On a side note, I’d recommend to not add too many images to a single gallery on your front page, as that can eventually cause your site to take very long to load. Rather have different pages with different smaller galleries, and link to them from your menu. Or even publish your galleries as posts so people can subscribe and get notifications whenever you publish a new one – editing an existing gallery or publishing a gallery on a page won’t generate any notifications to followers.

    Yes, I think :) I was referring to when you click on a thumbnail and it opens, there is no way to share, or like, from there.

    That said, your recommendations make a lot of sense and I’ll probably just follow your advice and that eliminates my problems!
