unable to sort 151 images

  i have spent all month long trying to organize/sort uploaded 151 images. however, they are out of order after they are uploaded. i have tried to reorder them via the mouse, but its futile as some do not want to remain in the position i placed them. i then renamed all the images with sequencial letters and number, and removed their meta tags/data too. but they continue to be out of order on wordpress. why??????

  ps: feedback – there should be a field for each image of a gallery where we can insert a number to force its placement in the proper order/sequence we want.

  The page you linked to is a draft and not published therefore it cannot be viewed. Viewing them wouldn’t help us.

  There used to be a way of controlling the order but it was tedious. Now there are multiple ways but it isn’t as obvious.

  Have you clicked and dragged the images into the order you prefer on the gallery?

  Have you played with the gallery shortcode to specifically order the image id numbers to include only the images you wish?

  Have you not used the gallery feature and put each image into the Page and edited the HTML to arrange them into the order you wish manually?

  yes. sometimes the image would stay where i put it. or after i believed i placed it my preferred location, it wasn’t there. it was either back at its original location or lost somewhere in between other pages in which case i would have to hunt it down.

  I did review the page regarding to the gallery but since i didnt find anything relating to sorting or organizing, i thought there was no help for me on it. however, since you mentioned the shortcut, i did find the code. i will take a shot at it and see if 151 images won’t be tedious to manually input.

  yes, i did try this but it seems that something stalled. i think the wordprss servers could not actually process that many images for 1 page via this method. i tried several times, but gave up – believing that the gallery sub routine was probably the better methodology for the server.

  i also switched over to the html tab on the page in hope that i could modify the html code. but all i saw were a bunch of numbers, most of which were repetitive. so i wasn’t sure if the code was specific to the media object on the other tab.

  thanks for your advice. i will attempt to try out the shortcode method.
