Unable to successfully change email address under "Users: Personal Settings"

About 5 days ago I requested under Users: Personal Settings that my comments etc be sent to a different e-mail address. However, this change has not happened, and every time I check back it says “There is a pending change of your e-mail to XXXXX.” What do I need to do to get that change approved–I can’t see any way at all–and even this answer will go to the wrong e-mail. Have you checked your spam messages folder?
Are you checking it in the right e mail address? The one which is your default e mail address. -
