Unable to Transfer Domain
-
I have today moved my WP.com blog to self-host at BlueHost and wish to transfer the domain name to point to their servers.
I am currently unable to do this from the WP dashboard because my blog has been suspended. Can you re-enable this function to allow me to transfer the domain?
Please note that the custom domain name is my property (and not the property of WP), and so it is not reasonable for WP to obstruct the transfer of this property, despite the suspension of the blog.
Kind regards,
Nick

This is not a duplicate thread. The query you link to above was responded to by Support in a private email. They will not take the blog out of suspension.
My situation has therefore changed – I have moved the blog away from wordpress.com and I am asking a completely different question – how can I update the nameservers/transfer the domain for a suspended blog?
Please feel free to delete former threads and flag this one for staff attention.
Thanks for your help.

Where did you purchase the domain from? That is where you update the nameservers.

From wordpress.com. But because the account is suspended it won’t let me access any of the domain management tools – just goes into ‘waiting’ mode indefinitely . . .

I did some research. You did purchase the domain through WordPress.COM and Staff will have to remove the domain mapping to
bestbrokerdeals.com from the suspended blog at bestbrokerdeals.wordpress.com -
Thanks. If you can flag this in any way to ensure that Staff are aware of the request that would be a great help?

I already tagged this thread from the get go. Staff deal with threads in order of datestamps stamps and timestamps as would be expected they deal with the earliest dated threads first. There is a backlog of threads tagged for Staff. Every time we post to a thread that moves the timestamp forward so it takes longer to get help.

I’d better stop posting then :)
I have marked as “resolved” all the other threads besides this one.

Hi @espencer2011,
I’ve reported this issue to our developers to take a look at. I’ll let you know as soon as you should be clear to transfer!
