Unable to update credit card information
-
I am receiving multiple notices from WordPress that my domain (allied-authors.org) will expire in February. A second version of the message warns me that I need to update my credit card information before the auto-renewal will take effect. (This is because, I imagine, the expiration date on my credit card is now different from what WP has on file.)
I’ve followed the directions in both versions of the email, but I always end up at the same place: https://wordpress.com/purchases. The message on that page reads “Looking to upgrade? Our plans give your site the power to thrive. Find the plan that works for you.” The “Upgrade Now” button only allows me to sign up for a Premium or Business account, neither of which I want.
I’ve tried to follow the instructions on this page (https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-credit-card-details/), but I can’t even get to the screens described. The closest I can get is the “Domains” tab, which does have a button that says “Payment Settings.” However, when I click it, it just takes me back to https://wordpress.com/purchases and prompts me to sign up for an upgrade (which, again, I don’t want!).
I can’t seem to end up anywhere useful…just that page that is promoting paid services I don’t need. I simply want to change credit card info for the domain mapping.
PLEASE HELP!
