unable to update homepage in theme Melos

Hi! I am running Melos and am trying to make some minor textual changes to my static homepage. Each time I try to publish the updates, I get an error message ‘update failed.’ I am still able to create / publish new posts.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

actually the web address populated incorrectly. The correct address is mulocalhistoryprojects.org

I’m afraid that, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with another company.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. Thanks. After searching through the wordpress.org forums, I learned that installing the classic editor plug-in might fix the problem. I’ve installed it and am now able to revise the text again on the static home page (posting it here in case anyone else encounters this issue!).
