Unable to update WordPress or install plugins (ftp pass denied)

    Dear all,

    since yesterday I am unable to update WordPress, install plugins and save changes on sites. Whenever I try to install a plugin I am asked to enter my ftp access. Changed the pass on my hosting site but that didn’t help.
    Maybe someone can help?

    There is no FTP access to wordpress.COM hosted sites. Only sites with the Business plan upgrade can install third party plugins.

    Note that about 30% of those who post here daily are posting to wrong support forum and the answers to wordpress.COM and WordPress.ORG support questions are not the same.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, support docs and support forums, run different theme versions of themes with the same names, and many people get confused about the two. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ as you could be posting to the wrong support forum.

    We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. We cannot provide support for sites that are not on our servers. Our support docs do not apply to
    (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
    (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM. That support is found at http://wordpress.ORG/support/
    (3) sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page. That support is found at http://jetpack.com/support/

    Sorry, got the wrong forum indeed. Had a call with my hoster yesterday but we couldn’t figure out where the problem lies. This morning I checked It again and the answer was very easy – no storage left on my webspace…
