Unable to upload an image
-
Hi, hoping you can all help. Used wordpress for a long time and had no issues until recently. The issue I am having is for the past couple of days I have been trying to upload an image to my company website which uses the free wordpress platform. When uploading the image it says ‘upload failed’ with a message stating ‘unable to create directory uploads/2020/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?’
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? My IT department think wordpress will need to fix the problem but I’m not sure how to get in touch with anyone.
Wordpress 5.4.2 is available but we haven’t installed it. Could this be the problem or is it something completely different?
Thanks you all in advance,
Sarah
