Unable to upload images – upload stops half way, then error, no reason given

  I´m trying to upload the same size images as for all my posts (that worked), but today, the upload just dies after some time, with a generic error message:

  “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”

  I tried uploading a tiny image (20kb) and it worked,but an 800kb image gets to 25% and then dies?

  I´m on a slower upload connection, but I managed to upload a 40MB video to Facebook and many pictures to Picasa, so don´t see why WordPress would struggle?

  Any issues with the uploader lately?

  thanks, smaller images go through one by one, not in bulk. will try some of the other steps too.
