Unable to upload moving gifs to Media Library, is it because I’m using Boldgrid now?

I’ve switched from using wordpress without hosting to buying a hosting plan with DreamHost, which now has me using Boldgrid. For some reason, every time I try to upload a gif to my media library or to a portfolio post, it gives me the http error message. I’ve tried changing themes and changing browsers as well but nothing has worked. Help me out please!
