Unable to upload new theme/plugin via dashboard

  Hi – a few questions:
  1. Around 1 month ago I signed up with wordpress.com to start a website michellerueff.com; I consequently realised I wanted to be using Bluehost and therefore wordpress.org so cancelled my membership but kept the domain name. I was unable to change the name server so guessed i had to transfer the domain to the Bluehost registrar. This has been started with 45 days left for the transfer to be complete (due to within 30days). During this process ICANN sent me an email verification but on returning to transfer the domain, was told email verification had not been accepted.
  2. in the meantime I wanted to upload an Elegant Themes theme to the website – but there is no “Add new Theme” or “Plugin” option on my dashboard.
  Can you tell me what is going on? It would be nice to move ahead and design my website but i seem to have created some obstacles for myself which I do not understand. Cheers

  There is a 60 day requirement for transferring a domain to a new registrar. Please see here:

  Then you are not looking at a WordPress.ORG software install. You are viewing a WordPress.COM blog instead.
