Unable to upload pictures/files

  I’ve just started using WordPress. Everything seem to be working fine, except the upload function. When I try and upload a picture it tells me “HTTP error”. I’ve done all of the following:

  1. The file is in JPG format
  2. The file is small enough (in fact 60kb)
  3. I’ve tried this on my laptop, pc and Ipad
  4. Tried it in both Explorer and Chrome
  5. Tried both Browser Uploader and Multi-file uploader
  6. Disconnected Plugins

  Please help?
