unable to use a theme “License code is already registered for other domain!!!

Hi there, I bought a theme years ago, and was using it with a website I used to have with WordPress. Now, I am no longer hosting that website with WordPress, but I would like to use that template with other hosting services provided. When entering the licence code, it says that this was already registered. I am unable to remove or deregister from my old WP website. What can I do here?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can’t help with third party themes, you must contact support of that theme.

But the theme was registered with a domain with WP, and I can access it. Is there any way this can be deregistered from the website I had with WP? This is where the problem is, I used to have this theme with my webiste, but since I moved down on plan, WP decided to restrict the use of my theme as I was in a lower plan. Now, I can log and do it myself as I have no access to WP account.

Everyone I spoke to is pointing on this direction to get this sorted. This licence purchase code was used with destinationparadise.properties before. When I downgrade my website, WP decided to remove the access to my theme as this was only avaialble in a higher plan. Now, I can’t seem to be able to access the old page to remove the purchase code, and this is still appearing as active with that domain. I need assistance from WP please!

@staartmees can you assist? or maybe point in the right direction? I really need WP to assist so I can get my product (third-party theme) unblocked by the WP theme. Please read below and let me know if you require more details regarding the issue.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Fredy,

I’m also replying here with the answer I sent you earlier in our other chat.

I see that you’re trying to use the licenses you bought on Envato in the new place where you’re creating your site, by ideally deactivating them in your old site with us.

I checked the logs and, unfortunately, since the site was downgraded more than 3 months ago, we no longer have backups, so we can’t access an older version.

Regarding the theme and plugins you purchased from ThemeForest (Envato) and other vendors (like WPForms):

    • The license activations for these products are handled directly by Envato/the theme author and the plugin developers. WordPress.com does not manage them. So we can’t see or reset which domain your licenses are linked to on our end.
    • Even though your plan was downgraded and you no longer have access to third-party themes/plugins on this site, your purchases themselves are still valid. To reuse them on a new website, you’ll need to ask the vendors to unlink the license from the old domain.

    I recommend that you:

    • Contact Envato/ThemeForest support or the support team of your WPRental theme directly, and
    • Contact WPForms (and any other plugin provider you bought from), and share your purchase code + the old domain name where the product was active. Ask them to reset or remove the license from that domain so you can activate it on your new site.

I hope you can regain access to these products soon! Let us know if we can assist with anything else.
