Unable to use my credit card to upgrade.

    So, I am trying to purchase the professional plan and when I enter my card details and click on proceed, I get the message ‘The transaction was declined. Please try another card.’ and I am sure my card works for online payments as I used it yesterday on a different website.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    They should have a clarity on why your transaction is failing.

    Our system shows the payment to WordPress.com was blocked by your bank or card provider, so you will need to contact them for more information. I also recommend asking them to confirm whether your card supports international payments because this feature isn’t always enabled by default.

    So, I tried another card which has international payments enabled, but, that had the same problem, and on contacting the bank, they said that the site does not accept payments from their bank, which is weird as the bank is a reputable international bank known worldwide.
    Is it possible for me to pay using PayPal or do a NEFT transfer?

    The only accepted means of payment are in this support doc.

    WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/

    If for whatever reason, they have chosen to block payment from your country, you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of your country. Note: You can buy a prepaid credit card from an approved country.

    In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.

    The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.

    Do you mind sharing which bank you are using?

    Is it possible for me to pay using PayPal or do a NEFT transfer?

    As @timetheif mentioned, we accept payments through PayPal, so you could try that option if you are unable to pay by card.

    Hi vashitva,

    We do accept payments from Deutsche Bank. Did they provide you with any information about why they think payments from Deutsche Bank are not supported on WordPress.com?

    Some German banks will pay by direct debit, which we don’t support. Which would mean the purchase wouldn’t go through.
