Hi,
I was trying to use WebP images on my website but I am getting error uploading it(error says try uploading in jpeg/png format) . I confirmed with my hosting provider, I have imagemagick installed. My site health confirms its installed. I dont understand what more additional things I need to do here.
Can someone help me on this?Site: (email visible only to moderators and staff).

Hello there,
It looks like http://www.foodfasana.com is hosted with Hostgator.
To be able to upload that file type, you would ideally need to speak to Hostgator about that capability. https://www.hostgator.com/contact

HI,
Can you specify what exactly I should be asking support from Hostgator. The site and php version confirms I have GD and imagick support. From the forums, I understand these are the requirements for supporting webp Images.
So I am not understanding what exactly I am missing here?
Thanks

I’ll need to zoom out a bit, and not focus on your hosting provider, to help point you in the right direction.
The short of it: you’ve arrived at the WordPress.com support forums. We offer support and guidance for sites hosted at WordPress.com, or are interested in moving to our hosting services.
Based on the details you provided, you have a “self-hosted WordPress site” hosted with HostGator.
Instead of these forums, many of your WordPress questions will need to be posted within the WordPress community support forums (at WordPress.org): https://wordpress.org/support/forums
For your question specifically about WebP images, we were able to find an article from WPBeginner.com that looks relevant: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-use-webp-images-in-wordpress/
If that’s what you are working with already, and you aren’t getting the answers you need, post your question within the forums I linked to above and see if you can locate some help. Good luck! 🙂
WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org; what’s the difference?
