unable to use wordpress on 2012 Macbook OS X Version 10.6.8

hello, I’ve had a wordpress for a while and can no longer write new posts from my mac.
It’s about 7 years old my MacBook and is getting slow in general, is it just a case that the software (although uptodate) cannot keep up with wordpress?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can you explain exactly what happens if you try to write a new post? Does the editor fail to load, in which case do you see any error messages? Can you load other pages like the Reader or Stats pages? Are you able to write posts using WP-Admin?

OS X 10.6.8 is extremely outdated, meaning you are also using a very old version of Safari which might not support much of the code we now use on WordPress.com. There is no way around that – you’ll only be able to update Safari if you update OS X.
But you might be able to install a recent enough version of a different browser. Please try downloading Chrome or Firefox, or even Opera, and see if that makes any difference.
