Unable to verify account

  • Unknown's avatar

I set up a new WordPress account, allinaword.com. This is the account name I want; however, I entered an incorrect email address, (email visible only to moderators and staff), an account I do not own. I am therefore unable to verify my new WordPress account. I attempted to change this to my correct email address, (email visible only to moderators and staff), but received a message that the email is already being used. I can’t find a way to contact WordPress. Any help much appreciated.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I understand how frustrating this situation can be, especially when an account is created with the wrong email address, and you’re unable to verify it.
I checked the correct email address you shared ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) and can confirm that it is already associated with an existing WordPress.com account.
That account doesn’t have any sites or paid plans, so you can safely delete it.

Once that account is deleted, you will be able to update your new account’s email address to the correct one.

    1. Delete the old account ((email visible only to moderators and staff))
You can close that account by following this guide:
    https://wordpress.com/support/close-account
Important: After closing the account, your email address cannot be reused for 30 days.
This is a normal security measure.

    2. Change the email address on your new account
After the 30-day period, you’ll be able to change the email on your new WordPress.com account:
