unable to verify the email address

  Hi i paid $18 and purchased a domain name. I am waiting for that to get activated. I have 2 questions

  1. will I get an email that the domain creation is done and I can start building my website?
  2. I got an email asking ‘verify your email address’ soon after i paid the amount of $18. but when I click on the button to verify my email, it takes me to 404 page on https://www.secureserver.net/default404.aspx

  what is my next step?
