Unable to view new notifications in Admin Bar

  I am aware that I have new notifications, comments, likes and so on, but when I click the star in the Admin Bar the drop down box appears with a loading symbol, and nothing happens. This is the same if I am at the WP homepage and click the speech bubble next to the “new post” pencil.

  I have followed a lot of instructions that I have found over on wordpress.org forums, to no avail. Bearing in mind that I have a free blog, so trying to find the relevant information is a bit tricky as most of the fixes that I have found are for self hosted or hosted sites.

  Not sure what other information to include, but any help would be appreciated.

  UPDATE

  I have managed to find a workaround. For the mean time it allows you to view your notifications and clear them from the list, but the drop down from the speech bubble and the admin bar are still not working :(

  i have the same problem, but https://wordpress.com/#!/notifications/ is not working either

  and i can’t press ‘like’ button on any blog
