Unable to view some graphics/pics…
-
I have got a gallery of six graphics in an article post on my blog – all the pics in this gallery are viewable. However, the other pictures within that article are not viewable anymore – these pics are not a part of said gallery simply because I don’t wish them to be, but I need to try and find a solution so that they display again along with the galllery.

The gallery only displays attached images, and images are only attached when uploaded while writing or editing the post.
In this case, try uploading the images that you don’t want in the gallery via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard. This will upload them as Unattached, and you can safely insert them into the post without them appearing in the gallery.

Hi,
I’m using the ‘add media’ button to upload the images that I don’t want in the gallery to the areas in the article that I require them to be displayed…but, unfortunately, they are still not displaying permanently…it would appear that they are timing out after a while and end up displaying a kind of placeholder.
-
Hmm…it would appear that each time I add a pic that they are also being added within the gallery too…
-
You need to specifically upload them via Media -> Add New in your Dashboard. Otherwise, they will be attached to the post and will appear in the gallery.
-
Never had this problem before…then again never used the gallery feature before…possible conflict with the other pics which aren’t part of the gallery…
-
-
It would appear that the uploaded pics are stating that they are unattached in the media library and are being uploaded into the relevant areas of the article where I want them to be but are also still being uploaded as part of the gallery now…so it’s like I’m still getting double pics published onto the page…
-
Did you also delete the duplicate image files that were previously attached to the post?
-
-
I’m afraid that hasn’t worked either – images still not displaying on page except the one at the top of article and the ones in the gallery…
-
-
That would be because they are still attached to the post.
Try deleting the actual image files themselves from the Media section of the blog’s Dashboard.

I’ve been into the Media section and it states that they are all ‘Unattached’. What if I delete all them anyway? I can only assume that they will automatically disappear from within the ‘Visual editor’ section if I do this? And then I’ll just upload as I’ve always normally done with my previous new posts – from my computer directly via the ‘Add Media’ button in the Visual editor section. However, this is what I did yesterday as normal, along with including this separate ‘gallery feature’ – never experience these kind of problems before and all the pics in my previous posts are still displaying.
-
I think I’ve sorted it – it would appear to have been a file association problem with the versions of files I uploaded into the Visual editor which didn’t match the ones in the Media Library, I’ve now amended them and they appear to displayed on the page once again….I’ll continue to monitor…

Any unattached image which is subsequently used in a post that contains a Gallery will become attached to the post and be displayed in the Gallery.
Either use “excludes” or upload those separate images to a different, published post that doesn’t have a Gallery in it.
