Unapproved Comments and Replied

  Hi! I have a doubt about comments:
  if someone leaves a comment on your post and it’s still unapproved, if you reply to it, do you have to approve it so the person who left you the comment can see your reply? Or it’s not necessary to approve the comment if you want to reply but not to make that comment public?
