Unapprove/Trash/Spam – differences?

What are the exact differences when someone wants to post a comment on my site and I chose ‘unapprove’, ‘trash’, or ‘spam’ after viewing their post? Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Unapproved means the comment has been marked as pending and is not visible to the public until you approve it.

    Trash deletes the comment.

Spam deletes the comment and marks it as spam. Marking it as spam helps Akismet learn what is and isn’t spam.

You can find more info about these options at https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-comments/

If you mark something as ‘spam’ does it block the user for leaving future posts?

I decided to be more specific as to the reason I am asking this: There is someone out there that wanted me to post HIS poetry on MY site {I told him to obtain his own site}. He left a comment that although innocent enough is not anything I would want on my webpage. I know he is ‘subscribed’ to my site, but I would like to guarantee that any future posts from him – and he himself – are blocked from using my site for his purposes. Will listing his post as ‘spam’ block him from further postings on my site? Thank you.
