Unattached Images

    I have 304 images in my media library that are classed as ‘unattached’ as opposed to five times that many that are ‘attached’. So far as I know I did nothing one way or the other to attach or not attach these images. When I post with an image(s) I assume they are attached to the post. Apparently that is not the case. I haven’t found any definitions nor do I understand how to attach an image or if I should even bother so long as the post is displaying properly. can you pls provide some background on this?

    Hi there,

    As long as the post is displaying properly and your blog looks the way you want it, you don’t need to worry about those unattached images. Attaching images allows you to use them in certain ways in some themes, for theme-specific features, but otherwise it isn’t necessary. We have more about that here: Unattached Files
