Unauthorised adverts on my blog

When my friend read my blog in Holland, he found an advert for the Dutch Ministry of Defence, which I had never authorised. Does this stem from the settings on his computer, Word Press settings or something I’ve done. When I read the same blog page, I don’t see any adverts. How can I stop this please ? WordPress.com puts ads on our blogs unless we have the paid No Ads upgrade. It’s in the Terms of Service you agreed to when you started. If you don’t see the ads, it’s because you’re signed in.

Thank you – how do I upgrade to a No Adverts blog please ? I’ve tried changing my settings, but can’t see any option for upgrading to a No Adverts policy. Kind Regards, HH
