Unauthorised charges

  Hi there,
  I’ve been paying towards wordpress since 2019 wothout my knowledge and any consent. I recently had a payment come out of my account for £158.40 which I was very confused about, I noticed it was wordpress and logged into my account to get a refund which I haven’t received yet. I was completely unaware that I’d be charged for wordpress, the email was a college email as this was years ago in uni when I used it.
  This is alot of money to come out of my account over the last few years and I feel I am due my money back as I haven’t used wordpress and have had no communication.

  When you have a paid plan on the wordpress.com platform, the according charges are never unauthorised. Also note you get several email notices about an upcoming charge. It’s solely up to you to follow up payments and manage the purchase you made on the wordpress.com platform.

  Refund periods are limited in time – https://wordpress.com/support/refunds/#refund-periods – you won’t get a refund for a payment several years ago.

  You can and must manage your purchases yourself at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases
