Unauthorized advertisement

    Hi,

My blog site is set to not have any advertisements, but today (2011 08 27) the “Click” section of my stats shows that someone clicked on an ad on one of my posts. I have no clue which post contains an ad and want all ads removed. This ad has got to be some sort of intrusion onto my blog site (and maybe all of WordPress), since my settings are set to not have ads. What can I do? The support team is closed for this weekend.

    Thank you for your helpfulness.

So you have the “no ads” upgrade?

  • I don’t see any trace of a No Ads upgrade ever being purchased on your account.

To support the service (and keep free features free), we sometimes run advertisements. We try hard to only run them in limited places. If you would like to completely eliminate ads from appearing on your blog, we offer the No-Ads Upgrade: http://en.support.wordpress.com/no-ads/

Please let us know if you have any more questions!

    Hi Guys,

Thank you for your prompt replies. I’ll have to check this out and think about it. I started my blog site awhile back, and thought I recalled making a No Ads setting of some sort — along with the choice of no “Related Posts”.

I did this because my site is simply a devotional site and the “Related Posts” and ads were often very inappropriate. Computers are unable to really see this sort of inappropriateness. It’s possible that the No-Ads Upgrade came into effect later and I just was not aware of it.

Thank you for clueing me in. Keep up the good work and know that it is appreciated.

    Margaret
