Unauthorized Charge

  I see a $100 unauthorized charge from wordpress. I don’t know where this is coming from and can’t find where to cancel it.

  Have you tried using that link?

  Automattic Inc. https://automattic.com/ owns WordPress.com and other products like Akismet and VaultPress, etc. so this could be a charge related to one of them. It’s important to know that each charge is sent to the registered email address for each username account, so if you have more than one username account that could be confusing you. Also, if you have a wordpress.org account and a wordpress.com account that could be confusing you.

  That price is the value of a Business plan renewal for 1 year.

  I see this error message:

  Howdy –

  It looks like this charge is from a different user account. There is no charge for that amount on elisasdailylookbook account.

  Try to sign in with the email address where the notification was delivered as each account requires a unique email address.

  The problem is I don’t have a different user account. I am unsure of how this could be possible.

  With more details I can potentially find the account. Which upgrade is listed in the email? Is it possible that you have email forwarding turned on?

  Please add the details to the link https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ to see if the charge is indeed from Automattic or another service.

  Hi Liz,

  I used the tool you suggested – WP says “found that charge” takes me to the account but there is no receipt for that charge. I am strictly seeing the $26 charge.

  Am I able to send you the info that I just tested via that tool so you can confirm?

  WordPress.com is not the same as WordPress – there are 2 versions, so the charge may not be from us after all but I am happy to confirm that privately.
