Unauthorized charging

  Hi,
  My credit card was charged last August 20. I don’t understand this because I am no longer hosting my site and already moved to namecheap. Could you please look into this.

  Perhaps you didn’t cancel your WordPress.com hosting plan when you moved to namecheap?

  Plans can be refunded within 30 days of purchase. Since your renewal charge was only 2 days ago, I think you can request a refund by following the directions at this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/

  If that doesn’t work for some reason, add modlook to the “tags” section in the right column of this page and a WordPress.com staff member will help you.

  I moved to namecheap since February 2016. If I still have a hosting plan, why charged it only this month? I don’t see the point :)

  WordPress.com charges an annual fee. If you moved to namecheap in the middle of the first year but didn’t cancel the plan with WordPress.com, then they would bill you again when the first year’s plan expired.

  There is no charge under the account you are contacting us from. It must be for an upgrade under someone else’s account. Do you happen to remember purchasing a subscription for a site that is associated with another account? How much was the charge?

  If you are unsure, you can go to https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ and put in information to check to see why you were charged.
