    Hi there,

    WordPress.com accepts all major Debit and credit card.

    Payment Methods on WordPress.com

    How can I pay using debit card if I am from India and do not have a credit card?

    You will have to use the same option which says pay through Credit Card for making payment via Debit card.

    If you’re paying through Debit card in India, I would suggest you first activate the card for International Payments from your Bank.

    Or you can choose to go with Paypal option to upgrade your account but again it requires the same or if the transaction couldn’t complete through PayPal you can reach their Indian Paypal Support so they’ll help you to sort this too.

    Thanks!

  • Or you can choose to go with Paypal option to upgrade your account

    Please note this option is not available for users in India, as PayPal does not accept payments in Indian Rupee (INR).

    @kokkieh,

    Sorry! But just to let you know that Paypal works very well here in India,
    Paypal has started with INR service too and WordPress.com accepts payments in USD which can be paid through Indian PayPal account, as I have used Paypal in for other international sites.

    Just to add more on this, when upgrading WordPress.com account via Paypal it shows that Paypal will send WordPress.com in USD and Indian Paypal account holders will be charged in INR from there Debit or Credit Card.
    Below is the screenshot of how it looks:
    Paying via Paypal

    Thanks!

    WordPress.com accepts payments in USD which can be paid through Indian PayPal account

    I said very clearly in my reply that PayPal does not accept payments in INR, and we don’t even display the pay via PayPal option to someone if their account is set to use INR rather than USD, as is the case with the OP.

    Your account is set to use USD, which is why you are seeing that option. Having PayPal automatically do currency conversion based on the currency your card is issued in is not the same as PayPal supporting direct payments in that particular currency.

    @kokkieh

    I was not aware if the account is set to INR then users won’t see pay via PayPal.
    Thanks!

    Best Wishes!
