Unblock BackWPup plugin from WP hosting – process?
-
Hello Support Team,
I’m currently working to ensure that the BackWPup plugin can be safely whitelisted across all hosting providers. In the past, some providers blocked it due to backup frequencies that did not meet their requirements.
We’ve since implemented several improvements to address this issue, and I’d now like to explore whether BackWPup (https://wordpress.org/plugins/backwpup/) can also be whitelisted for your WordPress hosting solutions. Could you please advise whether this is possible and outline the steps required to proceed?
Thank you in advance for your guidance.
Kind regards,
Joost van de Vijver -
I see your plugin is available at https://wordpress.org/plugins/backwpup/ and you are giving excellent support. However we can’t help regarding issues with hosting providers.
Regarding our wordpress.com platform, backup plugins aren’t needed on our platform as we make backups on a daily base – https://wordpress.com/support/plugins/incompatible-plugins/#backup-plugins

Hello @staartmees,
Thank you for your response. Just to confirm so I can close out this action point: there are no additional options to make our plugin available on WP Hosting, correct? The reasoning in the link you shared mentions that it “negatively impacts site performance with excessive resource usage,” but this is no longer the case. I’m wondering whether it would make any difference if we explored ways to have our plugin removed from that list.
Thank you for your support and patience.
Best regards,

The main reason we don’t need Backup plugins is because we make backups on a daily base – https://wordpress.com/support/plugins/incompatible-plugins/#backup-plugins
