uncancel my cancellation
-
I mistakenly made my website through wordpress.com when I needed to make it through wordpress.org through bluehost. Anyways, I wanted to cancel my domain and re-enter it on bluehost but I realized I could lose it in the process. So I want to just change my nameservers and map my site to bluehost. Problem is, I can’t do this because my cancellation is still pending. Someone emailed me advising me to not cancel my domain and I replied and agreed with them. However, my cancellation is still pending. How long will this take? Is it too late?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Actually, I should probably just delete it. I tried to point the nameservers over but it said that I had to wait 60 days. I don’t want to wait that long.

You do not want to cancel your domain registration – you might loose the name – and it can take 60 days or so for the name to be returned to the wild where someone else can take the name from you – change the name servers – the name servers can be changed as soon as the name is registered and changed as many times as you like.

-
The 60 day rule is for the transfer of a domain name to another registrar – it is an ICAN (internet) rule to help prevent fraud.

So how would I got about using bluehost without waiting 60 days? Or do I have to wait 60 days to make sure I don’t lose my domain name?
-
I have closed your cancellation request and replied to your email with further details.
You can change the nameservers at any time, but transferring the whole registration cannot be done until 60 days after registration.

What about it? You don’t have to change registrars at all. All you need to do is update the name servers. If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

Thanks for all the help. I just jumped into all this yesterday with no prior knowledge! I’m going to keep the wordpress.com domain. Thanks!

Hi! I cancelled my domain registration within the 48h period. But I changed my mind, I don’t want to cancel it anymore, I want to keep it. Is that possible?

Your domain has already been canceled and the refund left our account.
Canceled domains become the property of our registrar partner and are returned to the public pool at their discretion. We have no control over how long that will take.

What about canceling my cancelation request like for the other user above in this same forum? Isn’t that possible?
-
The previous poster contacted us before the cancellation went through. Unfortunately, yours has already gone through.
