Unclickable parent page
-
I ‘m creating a simple website-style blog and – because I have too many pages to fit on a single navigation bar – I wanted to “nest” a couple of pages together as children to a parent page. The parent page has no function, it is simply a sort of header for the two pages underneath. I’d like people to be able to click on either child page – but if they click on the parent itself then for nothing to happen.
I read somewhere (and sorry, can’t now find the link) that giving the parent page an hash symbol for the URL would achieve this. But for me – at least using Firefox – clicking on the parent gives the message “Alert! The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded” and you have to click on OK before you can click elsewhere.
Any suggestions for achieving what I’m after?

Thanks – perfect advice!
I had found something similar elsewhere that just suggested your second option (to replace the content of the parent URL field with a #), but your tip is much more clearly explained and the first option (to delete everything in the URL field and save) achieved exactly what I wanted!
