Uncropped version of Featured Image in Query Loop?

    I’m looking to move my photography off of Flickr to my own WordPress site. For each photo, I want the photo, a date, a title and short description. So seems like a perfect use case for a Posts and a Query Loop. The issue is that I can’t seem to figure out a way to keep the Featured Image from being cropped. (I.e. no matter what I do, it is seems to always stretch it to fit the size of the query loop’s container size). Is it possible to show an un-cropped Feature Image (I.e. in its original aspect ratio) within a Query Loop?
