    If I want to change the appearance of my blog, but still keep my current theme available to viewers while the site is under construction – what steps do I need to take?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi!

    Are you referring to minor changes like color and font customizations or more drastic changes like moving to another theme?

    If it’s the former, you can use the customizations under Appearance -> Customize from your Dashboard. Since you don’t have the Custom Design upgrade on your blog, the customizations will appear under Appearance -> Customize, but will not be pushed to the live version of your site.

    If you’re referring to switching themes, I’m afraid that won’t be possible. Theme changes are automatically pushed out to the live version of your site. You can, however, use the “Live Preview” option to test themes here:
