Hi… any idea where and what I need to change in the CSS file to make the Top Nav Tabs (About, etc.) have a different background color and font color?
Thanks!

Angela, that is off topic for this thread, please make a new thread in the CSS customization forum and please give us a link to the blog that you are talking about.

Hello.
Is there a way to remove the Tags, Calendar, and Archive widgets from the sidebar or are they permanently embedded? I already tried deactivating them under Appearance > Widgets but they still appear.
Just a note: I disabled the three column layout so the Tags, Calendar, and Archive are appearing below my main content but just above the footer.
I can’t provide a link to the blog in question because the owner has asked it to remain private until it’s ready to launch. I can invite someone to view it if that would help but I’m hoping someone knows about a solution.
Thanks,
-Matt

I’m using Under the Influence for my new blog (www.TheNurturedEntrepreneur.wordpress.com) and wanted to have a 3-column layout. It is only showing a main column and a right sidebar.
Can Under the Influence have a left and right sidebar, or is the 3-columns they refer to mean two posting columns and 1 sidebar? If so, I’ll need to keep looking as I need a left and right side bar.
Thanks.

@justyouimagine: It looks like Under The Influence has only one sidebar, but several footer areas for widgets:
http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2010/04/20/new-theme-under-the-influence/Digg 3 column and Coraline both have left and right sidebars and are very customizable, in case you’re interested :-)

@justyouimagine, it could be done with the CSS upgrade by taking one of the footer “sidebars” and moving it up, but it would require quite a bit of adjustment to other page elements to do this and have it look right. In other words it would take a fair bit of CSS experience.

Left and right sidebars:
Andreas 09, Coraline, Digg 3, Garland, Pilcrow, zBench; also Structure, on homepage only. -
Ηello!
How could I have only 3 columns at the footer area?
Is there a way to remove the Tags, Calendar, and Archive widgets from the footer and add only mine? -
@strangejournalist:
1) Appearance > Theme Options > Right Hand Footer Cell: select off, click Save Changes.
2) To remove the default footer items you add your own widgets. See here for more: -

I just moved my site from wordpress.com to my own server and am having some problems. Scanning the previous thread, I notice some other people are having the exact same issues with this theme, but I don’t see any resolutions…
1. Cannot remove header text
2. Cannot remove “About” link in menu below headerNeither of these were problems in my old site (which was identical). I can find the option to turn the header text off, but it simply doesn’t work. But I can’t even find the options for the “About” menu, though I am positive I played around with it when my site was on wordpress.com
Has anyone come up with any solutions to these?

@joshsayers: Just a thought… Since you are going self-hosted, have you tried posting on the WordPress.ORG forum instead?

I recently started using Under the Influence and just published a new post. The post shows up, however if you go to my site http://justshireen.wordpress.com my newest post does not show up on the home page.
Have I inadvertently hit a setting that prevents new posts from showing up on the main page?

The issues seemed to resolve itself once I added the post as a sticky to the front page and then removed the sticky. But surely I don’t need to do that every time I update?
