Underlined text on Chrome
-
I have created a blog to show some of the owrk I do and recently had to delete Firefox and start using Chrome or IE.
I note that in Chrome all the text is undelined, in IE (and Firefox when I had it) it is OK.
Anyone know why this is? and how I can fix it?
I would like to develop this blog into a defacto web site in the same style.
Thanks,
Mike

As this may be a bug I have flagged this thread so it is moved to the Themes Forum where Staff can respond to you.

Thanks. I just created a “home” page following the instructions and that doesn’t have underlining on Chrome, neither does the About Us which is a copy of the Home page, but all the other pages and posts do.

This is not a bug. This seems caused by wrong HTML markup you have in the Text Widget. Specifically some closing U tags are missing. I recommend you to revise and clean up the markup you put in the widget.

Thank you, quite correct, there were some </div> tags missing as well as some </U> on the Text Widget. Not sure how the underline tags even got in there in the first place, there is no need for them at all, being images.
Kind of strange how an error in one Widget affected the whole Blogs text though!
Thanks for your help. -
Please go here and activate this setting > Settings > Writing
___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes. If you have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here so you know how to do this correctly in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text

thanks timethief , done that now.
As it happens the problem with the underlining came from the Upload/insert/ add media rather than html I wrote myself. First time I have used the WP way of inserting images and it malfunctioned.
