Underlying Blog Post Color

I am trying to save my underlying color behind my blogposts. As I do it, it shows it working in the editor but after I publish it, it is not sticking publicly. Can you please help??

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi stefanwood321,

The Customiser provides the option to change the background colour on Radcliffe 2 but not the transparent box behind posts. It would be great if you could make a screenshot of what you are seeing in the Customiser and upload it to your Media Library so I can take a closer look.

Are the changes in Design > Customise > Colours & Backgrounds being published rather than saved as a draft (see the cog icon)?

If they are published, could you try clearing your browser cache to see whether that helps?

Thank you for your response. Clearing the cache was a great idea! I just tried it and unfortunately it still didn’t work. I have added the two photos to my media library. Are you able to see those?

I click the solid color that I like as a background (as shown in the photo) and then publish it. Then I open up a new tab to see if it is published and still no. :(

  • Hi @stefanwood321, so you want it solid but it’s showing up as partially transparent, right? And that’s making it hard to read.

And, given that you don’t have the advanced color customizations available in Premium, you’re stuck with either removing the background or having a hard-to read page. Is that correct?

If so, would you mind trying some of the free palette color options to see if one works well for you with this image?

Alternatively, would you consider using that image as a featured image or header, rather than a background?

  • Noting as well, I talked to our Theme folks about this to see if they have any ideas on how to address this issue, too. We’ll update you when we hear back.

Thanks again for your ideas. I’ve tried other colors. It still isn’t working. Not sure what to do.

  • At this point we’ll have to wait and see what our theme team says.

My guess is this is by design, though – when a theme is designed the background image is assumed to be more neutral, especially in a theme like this that uses a semi-transparent background on the content area.
