Underscore based theme availability to everyone?
-
Hello everyone,
It’s been one year that I’ve learned to develop WordPress themes using underscore. I developed few themes just for fun that are no longer online. What I’m here for is to ask you guys how to make your underscore based theme available to other people so you put it online or on WordPress store and they just download it. The only thing they’ve to do is just to install the theme as usual.
The problems I came across: Once you upload your theme files on your online server and you visit the website. You don’t get the right url for example http://www.example.com but instead you get your localhost url because you developed it locally. I was very frustrated at the beginning but I somehow figured it out and the problem was with the database because it was created locally. To fix this problem you’ve to go through a long process sometimes. I also use search-replace-DB-master.
So my question is how to make your _s theme available to other people without having problems like the one with the url. Because your theme is not designed for developers who already know how to develop but for those who have no idea how this works. The only thing they know is to click the install button and it’s done. How to achieve that with _s based themes? Many thanks

Hi Khani,
If you have questions about theme development, please post them over in the WordPress.org forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/forum/wp-advanced/
Stack overflow is another good place to ask developer related questions:

****
There are two different versions of WordPress.
These forums only provide support for the WordPress.com version.
Your development questions are more suited to the self-hosted version from WordPress.org.
To learn about the differences between the two versions of WordPress (.com vs.org), please see this guide.
Good luck!
