Understanding how RSS works

  Hello again,

  I was just wondering… My Blog theme has an RSS feed link included in it already. So how does it work for those who browse? Do they add it to their home page by clicking on it so when I make a new post, the get the whole post in a different page, the feed page, and so they can read everything and see/hear all media without ever coming back to my blog? And so they don’t even show, in the stats as visitors, am I right?
