understanding stats for embedded media

I am hoping to understand download stats vs page views. I recently began a podcast through my wordpress site. I use feedburner to publish it to the itunes store. Feedburner tells me how many downloads of each episode I get. I was wondering if my wordpress dashboard stats that show how many clicks a podcast related have gotten, would include how many off-site downloads have happened as well. In other words, if my feedburner says that an mp3 has been downloaded 100 times, and wordpress says that the post with the embedded mp3 has been visited 150 times, can i consider that 150 visits or 250 visits?

Our stats are not synced with Feedburner. However, they might even calculate visits differently that’s why the numbers aren’t exactly the same. The WordPress.com stats currently not reflecting the visits to uploaded documents and files.

The two main units of traffic measurement are views and unique visitors. A view is counted when a visitor loads or reloads a page. A visitor is counted when we see a user or browser for the first time in a given period (day, week, month).
